Very happy customer. I bought the speakers for my husband and he loves them. I was impressed myself with the system.
They seem to be pretty waterproof, although if you are putting them in a completely unprotected location I'd consider bringing them inside or putting them in an outside storage box. Just try them out before you commit to a location. These speakers are pretty good for the price. Not lots of bass, so if you want bone-shaking bass they are not the speakers for you. And I've had a few problems with interference in placement. Again, these all work out great in the intended usage - a moderate fidelity setup out on the patio - but would not work well in an audiophile's dream setup. Instead, go down to your big box hardware store and get some #10 brass flat head screws, either 1 1/2" long (for mounting on a deck post) or 2 1/2" (for mounting through siding).
Sometimes it's either too loud or too quiet. The only drawback is that there doesn't seem to be quite enough "steps" in the volume level.
You should also know that it is designed to plug into a line-level output (not speaker wires) and it does not provide stereo sound. I've read problems with the remote: I've had no problems so far.
They are easy to set up and move around, and have pretty good sound. Under the eaves, they're fine to leave out.The drawbacks: Not great bass sound.
I think if you place them up high (with the transmitter up high also) you will get better results.Overall, a good speaker for a reasonable price. On the other hand, for parties out on the deck where you want background music, they are just fine.
Similarly, additional add-on speakers are available if you have an area greater that two speakers can cover - or need an extra speaker over near something noisy like a spa. They come with handy holes on the back for wall mounting, although you should be aware that a "hook" type mounting system illustrated in the manual will not work.
This is my second set --as I liked the first one so much based on my needs & price.
The sound is clear, without distortion. The remote control struggles to work; I don't know why, but since I don't require it, that is immaterial.I can only say that for the price you ought to buy these even if you don't need them. I have owned other wireless speakers. They are a TOTALLY satisfying product. They are that good. They were satisfactory, but suffered from interference and volume level problems. These speakers impressed me from the first half-hour. Even with the low level of my music player (iPod style), the volume reaches my vegetable garden, while they are mounted on the house--and nothing need be set at full level.
The company has a live help desk if you have questions. Oh, and easy to set up. The remote works fine.
There is some interference when listening to FM/AM stations but I think it is more a function of my receiver than these speakers. I have not used these outdoors. Good sound quality and virtually no static when listening to CD's.
Doesn't look like something that would take well to rain. I called them prior to purchase and the rep was very knowledgeable. Sure beats threading wires throughout the house.
The speakers are attractive and in my opinion well worth the $100+ price.
